THE STORY:
Don't be deceived by the low price on this coffee: our direct trade relationship with the owners of la Finca Montaña ("Mountain Farm", in Spanish) allow us to provide this excellent Colombian coffee at an excellent price.  One of several coffees from the Salgar Region, this particular lot is a 15-screen Arabica coffee grown at an elevation of 1600-1800 meters.  We've roasted these to a medium (full city) level, resulting in overt chocolate flavors balanced with a full body and smooth lingering finish.

Here's what the farmers have to say about this coffee:

"The Salgar Region has long been a top producer of specialty coffee in Colombia. Spectacular vistas drop into lush, sun-kissed valleys which provide ideal growing conditions for Arabica coffee.  The coffee we grow is much like their home in Salgar: complex yet delicate, bold yet easygoing, and always memorable.

"Jhon Fredy Marin is the manager at La Colombiana, a small farm poised on the top of a dramatic hillside that overlooks the Tarqui Creek far below.  Surrounded by thick pine groves and steep pastures, Jhon, his family and the farm where they live are representative of the classic Colombian coffee story we love to tell."
