THE STORY:

These Guatemalan coffee beans have been decaffeinated by swiss water processing in Vancouver, BC. Vancouver decaffeinators are known the world over for their chemical-free, water-based decaf process that is gentle on coffee and retains much of the volatile compounds that affect flavor and aroma.

The coffee beans are sourced from Antiguan estates and small farms in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. All of the coffee that went into this blend is planted above 1600 meters elevation. Bourbon is the dominant cultivar, though there is some Caturra and Typica mixed in from the Huehuetenango farms. None of the coffees were bought as a lower quality for decaffing, which is so often the case.

This decaffeinated coffee tastes nutty and smooth, with hints of chocolate. We recommend brewing as a french press, drip coffee, or espresso.
